Have you noticed lately that everybody’s going Cuckoo over Coconuts? Coconut oil, flour, milk, cream, sugar, butter!?!?! Well, Harmless Harvest gave us the lowdown on why organic coconut water is so good for you at the Artisanal LA Spring Marketplace / April 1 + 2 / 11a-6p:
An “eco-system based business,” the company is extremely sensitive to the local community in Thailand where the coconuts are harvested: “We understand that as a business, every decision we make has a profound impact that stretches far beyond Harmless Harvest itself – to the consumers who drink our product, the people who produce it and their communities, and the planet as a whole.”
The high levels of natural potassium and magnesium in the water make it a great pre-and post work tool to help prevent muscle soreness. The furry fruit of the palm tree is also anti-viral, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It reduces risk of heart health and improves good cholesterol. And we all know how good it is for our hair and skin…
In all honesty, I was never a huge fan of coconut water because it always tasted so bland and watery. But the process Harmless Harvest uses, blending the meat with the water made me a convert. It actually tastes like taking a bite out of a fresh coconut! Plus it’s pink (the clear water changes color when the light hits the electrolytes… ) How can you beat that?!
